Decolgen 100 mg / 2.5 mg / 0.33 mg per 5 ml

Indication

For control of the common cold and relief of allergic or vasomotor rhinitis, influenzal catarrh, sinusitis, and related upper respiratory disorders.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol 100 mg per 5 ml
• Phenylephrine hydrochloride 2.5 mg per 5 ml
• Chlorpheniramine maleate 0.33 mg per 5 ml

Direction

Take orally 3 or 4 times a day as directed: infants under 2 years, ask a doctor before use; ages 2–6 years, 5–10 ml; ages 7–12 years, 15 ml; adults, 30 ml. Or use as prescribed by a doctor.

Side effects

• Rare skin reactions such as itchy maculopapular rash or urticaria
• mild central nervous system stimulation in sensitive patients
• drowsiness or sedation may occur.

Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose. The manufacturer lists hypersensitivity
• severe hepatic or renal impairment
• severe hypertension
• coronary artery disease
• and acute asthma attack as contraindications. Use caution with hyperthyroidism
• diabetes
• or ischemic heart disease. Stop at the first sign of rash or hypersensitivity. The leaflet advises against use while breastfeeding and notes pregnancy safety has not been established.
