Panadol Extra 500 mg / 65 mg

Indication

For treatment of mild to moderate pain and relief of fever, including headache, migraine, sore throat, muscle ache, dysmenorrhoea, musculoskeletal pain, fever or pain after vaccination, dental pain, toothache, earache, osteoarthritis pain, and symptoms of respiratory infections including cold and flu.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol 500 mg
• Caffeine 65 mg

Direction

For adults, including the elderly, and children aged 12 years and over: take 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours when required. The minimum interval is 4 hours. Do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours. Oral use only. Do not use with other paracetamol-containing products. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest necessary duration.

Side effects

• Rare: allergic reactions
• skin rash or itching
• swelling or breathing difficulty
• skin peeling or mouth ulcers
• unexplained bruising or bleeding.
• Very rare: low platelet count
• severe allergic skin reactions
• liver disorder
• dizziness
• headache
• palpitations
• insomnia
• restlessness
• anxiety
• irritability
• nervousness
• or gastrointestinal disturbances.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to paracetamol
• caffeine
• or any ingredient.
• Do not exceed the stated dose or take with other paracetamol
• containing medicines
• overdose can cause severe liver injury.
• Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have liver or kidney problems
• high blood pressure
• glaucoma
• overactive bladder
• severe infection
• severe malnutrition
• low body weight
• chronic alcohol use
• or are pregnant
• trying to become pregnant
• or breastfeeding.
• Avoid other caffeine
• containing products
• excess caffeine may cause a rapid heartbeat
• nervousness
• or sleeplessness.
• Stop use and seek medical advice for an allergic reaction
• severe skin reaction
• unexplained bleeding
• or if symptoms persist.
