Amlo-Denk 5 5 mg amlodipine

Indication

Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina, including Prinzmetal or variant angina.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine mesilate monohydrate 6.395 mg
• equivalent to amlodipine 5 mg per tablet

Direction

Take exactly as directed by a doctor. The usual initial dose is 5 mg once daily; a doctor may increase it to 10 mg once daily. Take at the same time each day with water, with or without food. Do not take with grapefruit or grapefruit juice.

Side effects

• Very common: ankle swelling.
• Common: headache
• dizziness
• sleepiness
• palpitations
• flushing
• abdominal pain
• nausea
• altered bowel habits
• diarrhoea
• constipation
• indigestion
• tiredness
• weakness
• visual disturbances
• double vision
• and muscle cramps.
• Seek urgent medical care for sudden breathing difficulty
• swelling of the face
• lips
• tongue or throat
• severe skin reactions
• heart attack symptoms
• abnormal heartbeat
• or severe abdominal/back pain.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to amlodipine or other calcium
• channel blockers
• or with severe hypotension
• aortic stenosis
• cardiogenic shock
• or heart failure after a heart attack.
• Tell a doctor about recent heart attack
• heart failure
• severe high blood pressure
• liver disease
• pregnancy
• or breastfeeding.
• Ask a doctor or pharmacist about other medicines because interactions are possible
• grapefruit can raise amlodipine levels.
• Follow the prescribed dose. Seek medical help for severe allergic symptoms
• breathing difficulty
• fainting
• or severe chest or abdominal pain.
