Prosan® 50 50 mg

Indication

Treatment of major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

Ingredients

• Sertraline hydrochloride 50 mg

Direction

Adults: Initially 50 mg once daily, morning or evening. Dose may be increased to a maximum of 200 mg per day based on clinical response. Adjustments should be made at intervals of at least one week. Take with or without food.

Side effects

• Nausea and diarrhoea.
• Insomnia or somnolence.
• Dry mouth.
• Dizziness.
• Sweating.
• Sexual dysfunction (decreased libido
• ejaculatory delay).
• Tremor.

Precautions

• Do not use concurrently with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) — wait at least 14 days after stopping MAOIs.
• Increased risk of suicidal thinking in children
• adolescents
• and young adults at treatment initiation
• monitor closely.
• Risk of serotonin syndrome when combined with other serotonergic drugs.
• Use with caution in patients with epilepsy
• hepatic impairment
• bipolar disorder
• or bleeding disorders.
• May cause QT prolongation — use with caution in patients at risk.
• Avoid abrupt discontinuation — taper dose to reduce withdrawal symptoms.
• Keep out of reach of children.
