Paracetamol Syrup 250 mg / 5 ml

Indication

Relief of mild to moderate pain (headache, toothache, muscle aches) and reduction of fever in children.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol 250 mg per 5 mL

Direction

Children: Dose is based on body weight — 10–15 mg/kg every 4–6 hours as needed, not more than 4 times in 24 hours. Approximate doses: 1–3 years (10–15 kg): 5 mL; 4–6 years (16–23 kg): 7.5–10 mL; 7–12 years (24–40 kg): 10–15 mL. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.

Side effects

• Rare at therapeutic doses.
• Nausea and vomiting.
• Hepatotoxicity (liver damage) in overdose.
• Allergic skin reactions (rare).

Precautions

• Do not use with other paracetamol
• containing products — risk of overdose.
• Paracetamol overdose can cause serious liver damage.
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment or renal impairment.
• Consult a doctor if fever persists for more than 3 days or pain for more than 5 days.
• Keep out of reach of children.
