Indication
Productive cough; cough due to bronchitis or emphysema.
Ingredients
- Bromhexine HCl 4 mg
- Guaifenesin 100 mg
- Ethanol 6% v/v (per 5 mL)
Direction
Adults and children over 12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) 3 times a day. Children 6–12 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) 3 times a day. Shake well before use.
Side effects
- Occasional gastrointestinal disturbance
- Rarely: allergic skin rashes and vomiting
Precautions
- Special precaution is needed in patients with gastrointestinal ulceration
- and during pregnancy and lactation
- Guaifenesin may give a false positive result for urinary 5
- HIAA and VMA tests
- Keep out of the reach of children
