Woods' Peppermint Expectorant Bromhexine HCl 4 mg / Guaifenesin 100 mg per 5 mL

Indication

Productive cough; cough due to bronchitis or emphysema.

Ingredients

• Bromhexine HCl 4 mg
• Guaifenesin 100 mg
• Ethanol 6% v/v (per 5 mL)

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) 3 times a day. Children 6–12 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) 3 times a day. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Occasional gastrointestinal disturbance
• Rarely: allergic skin rashes and vomiting

Precautions

• Special precaution is needed in patients with gastrointestinal ulceration
• and during pregnancy and lactation
• Guaifenesin may give a false positive result for urinary 5
• HIAA and VMA tests
• Keep out of the reach of children
