Augmentin 1 g (875 mg / 125 mg)

Indication

Combination penicillin antibiotic (amoxicillin + clavulanic acid) for bacterial infections, as prescribed by a doctor.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin (as trihydrate) 875 mg
• Clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate) 125 mg

Direction

Twice-daily dosing: take as prescribed by the doctor, swallowed with water at the start of a meal. Complete the full course of treatment.

Side effects

• Diarrhoea
• nausea or vomiting
• Skin rash or itching
• Severe allergic reaction (rare): stop use and seek medical help

Precautions

• Prescription
• only medicine: use only as prescribed by a doctor.
• Do not use if you are allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins
• stop and seek medical help at once if a rash
• swelling of the face or difficulty breathing occurs.
• Tell your doctor if you have liver problems or have had jaundice with antibiotics
• take at the start of a meal to reduce stomach upset.
• Complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better
• to avoid resistance.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant
• breastfeeding or have kidney disease before using.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• and stop use if irritation or an allergic reaction occurs.
