Indication
Relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and acute musculoskeletal disorders. Short-term management of acute pain.
Ingredients
- Piroxicam 20 mg
Direction
Adults: 20 mg once daily with food. Some patients may be maintained on 10 mg daily. Do not exceed 20 mg per day. Use lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
Side effects
- Gastrointestinal discomfort
- nausea
- and dyspepsia.
- GI ulceration and bleeding.
- Dizziness and headache.
- Oedema.
- Skin rash.
- Elevated liver enzymes.
- Renal impairment with prolonged use.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with history of GI ulceration
- bleeding
- or perforation.
- Contraindicated in severe renal or hepatic impairment.
- Avoid in patients with cardiovascular disease
- heart failure
- or hypertension.
- Avoid use in the third trimester of pregnancy.
- NSAIDs may increase risk of cardiovascular events with long
- term use.
- Take with food to reduce gastrointestinal irritation.
- Avoid concurrent use of other NSAIDs or aspirin.
- Keep out of reach of children.
