FELXICAM 20 Piroxicam 20 mg

Indication

Relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and acute musculoskeletal disorders. Short-term management of acute pain.

Ingredients

• Piroxicam 20 mg

Direction

Adults: 20 mg once daily with food. Some patients may be maintained on 10 mg daily. Do not exceed 20 mg per day. Use lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal discomfort
• nausea
• and dyspepsia.
• GI ulceration and bleeding.
• Dizziness and headache.
• Oedema.
• Skin rash.
• Elevated liver enzymes.
• Renal impairment with prolonged use.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with history of GI ulceration
• bleeding
• or perforation.
• Contraindicated in severe renal or hepatic impairment.
• Avoid in patients with cardiovascular disease
• heart failure
• or hypertension.
• Avoid use in the third trimester of pregnancy.
• NSAIDs may increase risk of cardiovascular events with long
• term use.
• Take with food to reduce gastrointestinal irritation.
• Avoid concurrent use of other NSAIDs or aspirin.
• Keep out of reach of children.
