Amlocor-5 5mg

Indication

Treatment of hypertension and prophylaxis of stable and vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina pectoris.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine besilate 5 mg

Direction

Adults: 5 mg once daily. Dose may be titrated up to 10 mg once daily based on clinical response. Elderly patients: Start with 2.5–5 mg once daily. Take with or without food.

Side effects

• Peripheral oedema (ankle swelling).
• Flushing.
• Headache.
• Dizziness.
• Palpitations.
• Fatigue.
• Nausea.

Precautions

• Use with caution in severe aortic stenosis
• cardiogenic shock
• and severe hepatic impairment.
• Avoid abrupt withdrawal in angina patients.
• May cause vasodilatory hypotension
• particularly at initiation.
• Grapefruit juice may increase plasma concentrations — avoid.
• Monitor blood pressure regularly.
• Keep out of reach of children.
