Angilock Plus 50/12.5 50 mg Losartan Potassium & 12.5 mg Hydrochlorothiazide

Indication

Treatment of hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on losartan or hydrochlorothiazide monotherapy.

Ingredients

• Losartan potassium 50 mg
• Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg

Direction

Adults: 1 tablet (Losartan 50 mg + HCTZ 12.5 mg) once daily. May be increased to Losartan 100 mg + HCTZ 25 mg once daily if needed. Take with or without food.

Side effects

• Dizziness.
• Hypokalaemia.
• Increased serum creatinine.
• Headache.
• Cough (rare
• less than ACE inhibitors).
• Hyperuricaemia.
• Fatigue.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in pregnancy — can cause fetal injury or death.
• Contraindicated in severe renal impairment (eGFR <30 mL/min) and anuria.
• Avoid concurrent use with ACE inhibitors or aliskiren in diabetic patients.
• Monitor serum electrolytes
• renal function
• and blood pressure regularly.
• Hypokalaemia risk from hydrochlorothiazide component.
• May precipitate gout.
• Keep out of reach of children.
