Indication
Relief of the inflammatory manifestations of hyperkeratotic and dry corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, such as psoriasis, chronic atopic dermatitis, neurodermatitis and seborrhoeic dermatitis.
Ingredients
- Betamethasone dipropionate USP 0.064% w/v (equivalent to betamethasone 0.05%)
- Salicylic acid BP 2.0% w/v
- Preservative: methyl paraben USP 0.1% w/v
Direction
Apply to the affected area two times daily or as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Route of administration: topical.
Side effects
- Local burning
- itching
- irritation or dryness of the skin
- Folliculitis
- acne
- like eruptions
- excessive hair growth or loss of skin pigmentation
- Skin thinning
- stretch marks or secondary skin infection with prolonged use
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any side effect is troublesome or persists
- and stop use if irritation or an allergic reaction occurs.
Precautions
- For external use only
- do not use in or around the eyes.
- Controlled medicine: use only as directed by a doctor or pharmacist.
- Do not use if allergic to betamethasone
- other corticosteroids or salicylic acid
- or on viral skin infections
- skin tuberculosis or rosacea.
- Avoid prolonged use
- use on large areas or under occlusive dressings (risk of adrenal suppression or salicylate toxicity)
- especially in children.
- Consult a doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Keep out of reach of children.
