Indication

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for the relief of pain and inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout, back pain, sprains, strains and other musculoskeletal disorders, and post-traumatic or post-operative pain and swelling.

Ingredients
  • Diclofenac sodium USP 100 mg
Direction

Oral, as directed by the physician. Usual adult dose: 1 tablet (100 mg) once a day, taken with or after food. Swallow whole with water; do not chew or crush. Do not exceed 150 mg diclofenac per day.

Side effects
  • Indigestion
  • stomach pain
  • nausea
  • vomiting or diarrhoea
  • Heartburn
  • flatulence or loss of appetite
  • Headache or dizziness
  • Raised liver enzymes or fluid retention
  • Rarely
  • stomach bleeding or ulcer (black stools
  • vomiting blood) – stop and seek medical help
  • Rarely
  • allergic reactions such as rash
  • swelling or breathing difficulty – stop and consult a doctor
Precautions
  • Prescription medicine – use only as directed by a physician
  • Do not use if allergic to diclofenac
  • aspirin or other NSAIDs
  • or if NSAIDs have triggered asthma
  • hives or rhinitis
  • Do not use with active or past peptic ulcer or GI bleeding
  • or severe heart
  • liver or kidney failure
  • Use with caution in high blood pressure
  • heart disease
  • stroke risk
  • asthma or the elderly
  • use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time
  • Do not combine with other NSAIDs
  • avoid alcohol
  • caution with anticoagulants
  • diuretics and blood
  • pressure medicines
  • Contains sunset yellow lake colour
  • which may cause allergic reactions in sensitive people
  • Avoid during the last trimester of pregnancy
  • consult a doctor or pharmacist if pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Keep out of reach of children
