Indication
Antacid for the relief of symptoms of excess stomach acid such as heartburn, sour belching and dyspepsia; hyperacidity in gastric and duodenal ulcers, acute and chronic gastritis, oesophagitis and gastro-oesophageal reflux; and prevention of stress ulcers.
Ingredients
- Aluminium phosphate gel 20% 12.38 g per 20 g sachet
Direction
Oral use. Adults: 1 to 2 sachets, 2 to 3 times daily, taken between meals or when symptoms occur. Knead the sachet before opening; may be taken directly or diluted in a little water. Read the package insert for full instructions.
Side effects
- Constipation
- especially in elderly or bedridden patients
- Prolonged high
- dose use may lower phosphate levels
- Rarely
- allergic reactions
- stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist
Precautions
- Do not use in severe kidney failure
- Take other medicines at least 2 hours before or after this antacid
- as it can reduce their absorption (e.g. tetracyclines
- fluoroquinolones
- iron
- digoxin)
- Do not use for prolonged periods without medical advice
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if pregnant or breastfeeding
- Keep out of reach of children
