Metronidazole (Chea Chamnan) 250 mg

Indication

Antibacterial and antiprotozoal agent for the treatment of infections due to anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, including trichomoniasis, intestinal and hepatic amoebiasis, giardiasis, bacterial vaginosis, and anaerobic infections such as dental and abdominal infections.

Ingredients

• Metronidazole 250 mg

Direction

Oral route, on prescription only. Dose and duration depend on the infection and are set by the doctor; tablets are usually taken with or after meals. Follow the prescribed doses and read the package leaflet carefully.

Side effects

• Metallic taste in the mouth

• Headache or dizziness

• coloured urine

Precautions

• Prescription only
• follow the prescribed doses
• Do not use if allergic to metronidazole or other nitroimidazoles
• Do not drink alcohol during treatment and for at least 48 hours after the last dose
• Use with caution in liver disease
• blood disorders
• or nervous system disease
• May increase the effect of oral anticoagulants (warfarin)
• tell your doctor about other medicines
• Pregnant (especially first trimester) or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use
• Keep out of the reach of children
