Indication
Relief of common cold symptoms: fever, nasal congestion and stuffy nose, and chest congestion with thick mucus (ambroxol helps loosen phlegm).
Ingredients
- Paracetamol 500 mg
- Ambroxol hydrochloride 30 mg
- Phenylephrine hydrochloride 10 mg
Direction
Oral route. Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet three times daily for the first 2-3 days, then 1 tablet twice daily or 1/2 tablet three times daily. Children 6-12 years: 1/2 tablet 2-3 times a day. Do not exceed the stated dose.
Side effects
- Nausea
- stomach upset or diarrhoea
- Headache
- dizziness
- nervousness
- restlessness or difficulty sleeping
- Fast heartbeat or raised blood pressure (phenylephrine)
- Rarely
- skin rash
- itching or other allergic reactions
- stop use and seek medical help
- Serious skin reactions are very rare
- stop immediately if skin blistering or peeling occurs
- Liver damage with paracetamol overdose
Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to paracetamol
- ambroxol
- phenylephrine or any ingredient
- Do not use with severe high blood pressure
- severe heart disease
- hyperthyroidism
- or within 2 weeks of MAO inhibitors
- Do not take with other medicines containing paracetamol or decongestants
- Use with caution in liver or kidney impairment
- diabetes
- glaucoma
- prostate enlargement or stomach ulcer
- Avoid alcohol
- Do not use for more than 7 days
- or if fever persists more than 3 days
- without medical advice
- Not for children under 6 years
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if pregnant or breastfeeding
- Keep out of reach of children
