Indication
Nasal decongestant drops for catarrhal rhinitis (common cold with runny or blocked nose) and nasal congestion.
Ingredients
- Naphazoline hydrochloride 10 mg per 10 ml (1:1000)
Direction
For nasal use. Instil 1-3 drops into each nostril up to 3 times daily; do not use too many drops. After 10 days of continuous use, stop for 2-3 days before using again. Discard one month after opening.
Side effects
- Temporary stinging
- burning or dryness of the nose
- Sneezing
- Rebound nasal congestion with prolonged or excessive use
- Headache
- palpitations or raised blood pressure if too much is used
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs
Precautions
- Do not instil too many drops
- After 10 days of continuous use
- stop for 2
- 3 days before continuing
- Use with caution in hypertension
- heart disease
- hyperthyroidism
- diabetes or glaucoma
- Not for use with MAO inhibitors
