Aluminium Phosphat Gel (Vidipha) 12.38 g / 20 g sachet

Indication

Antacid for relief of symptoms of excess stomach acid such as heartburn, acid reflux, bloating and indigestion; supportive treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis and gastro-oesophageal reflux.

Ingredients

• Aluminium phosphate gel 12.38 g (containing 20% AlPO4) per 20 g sachet

Direction

Oral. Adults: 1 to 2 sachets 2 to 3 times a day, between meals or when pain occurs. Shake/knead the sachet well before use; may be taken undiluted or mixed with a little water. Follow the leaflet or the doctor's advice.

Side effects

• Constipation
• especially in elderly or bedridden patients
• Rarely
• nausea or abdominal discomfort
• Stop use and consult a doctor if allergy occurs

Precautions

• Do not use in severe kidney impairment without medical advice
• Take other medicines at least 2 hours apart
• as antacids can reduce their absorption
• Do not use for long periods or at high doses without consulting a doctor
• Consult a doctor if symptoms persist
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if pregnant or breastfeeding
• Keep out of reach of children
