ZEPAM® 10 Diazepam 10 mg

Indication

Used for short-term relief of anxiety and tension, muscle spasm, alcohol withdrawal, and as premedication before procedures.

Ingredients

• Diazepam 10 mg

Direction

Adults: 2–10 mg two to four times daily depending on indication, for the shortest necessary duration. Elderly: start at lower dose (2–5 mg). Take with or without food.

Side effects

• Drowsiness and sedation
• Muscle weakness
• Dizziness / ataxia
• Memory impairment
• Respiratory depression (with high doses)
• Dependence and withdrawal symptoms

Precautions

• Controlled substance — risk of dependence
• tolerance
• and abuse.
• Contraindicated in severe respiratory insufficiency
• sleep apnea
• acute hepatic failure
• and myasthenia gravis.
• Do not abruptly stop — taper dose gradually.
• Avoid alcohol and CNS depressants.
• Use with caution in elderly
• renal/hepatic impairment.
• Not recommended in pregnancy — risk of neonatal withdrawal.
