Indication
Used for the short-term treatment of anxiety disorders and symptoms of anxiety.
Ingredients
- Bromazepam 6 mg
Direction
Adults: 6–12 mg daily in divided doses. Elderly: 3–6 mg daily. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
Side effects
- Sedation / drowsiness
- Dizziness
- Ataxia
- Memory impairment
- Paradoxical agitation (rare)
- Dependence and withdrawal
Precautions
- Controlled substance — risk of dependence and abuse.
- Contraindicated in severe respiratory insufficiency
- sleep apnea
- myasthenia gravis
- severe hepatic insufficiency.
- Do not abruptly discontinue — taper to avoid withdrawal.
- Avoid alcohol and CNS depressants.
- Causes drowsiness — patients should not drive or operate machinery.
- Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
