Indication

Used for the short-term treatment of anxiety disorders and symptoms of anxiety.

Ingredients

• Bromazepam 6 mg

Direction

Adults: 6–12 mg daily in divided doses. Elderly: 3–6 mg daily. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.

Side effects

• Sedation / drowsiness
• Dizziness
• Ataxia
• Memory impairment
• Paradoxical agitation (rare)
• Dependence and withdrawal

Precautions

• Controlled substance — risk of dependence and abuse.
• Contraindicated in severe respiratory insufficiency
• sleep apnea
• myasthenia gravis
• severe hepatic insufficiency.
• Do not abruptly discontinue — taper to avoid withdrawal.
• Avoid alcohol and CNS depressants.
• Causes drowsiness — patients should not drive or operate machinery.
• Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
