Indication

Used for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

Ingredients

• Sertraline hydrochloride 50 mg

Direction

Adults (depression/OCD): Initial 50 mg once daily; may increase by 50 mg increments at intervals of at least 1 week; maximum 200 mg/day. Take once daily in the morning or evening, with or without food.

Side effects

• Nausea (especially on initiation)
• Diarrhea
• Headache
• Insomnia or somnolence
• Dry mouth
• Sexual dysfunction (decreased libido
• delayed ejaculation)
• Increased sweating
• Dizziness

Precautions

• May increase risk of suicidal thinking in children
• adolescents
• and young adults — monitor closely.
• Do not use concomitantly with MAO inhibitors — risk of serotonin syndrome.
• Use with caution with other serotonergic agents
• anticoagulants
• NSAIDs.
• May cause QT prolongation at high doses.
• Do not abruptly discontinue — taper to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
• Use with caution in hepatic impairment.
