Konimag 7ml

Indication

Used as an antacid to relieve heartburn, acid indigestion, and upset stomach, and as a laxative for the short-term relief of constipation.

Ingredients

• Magnesium hydroxide (milk of magnesia) suspension 7 ml per dose

Direction

Adults: As antacid — 5–15 ml up to 4 times daily. As laxative — 30–60 ml as a single dose at bedtime. Children: consult a doctor. Take with a full glass of water.

Side effects

• Diarrhoea (most common
• especially at laxative doses).
• Stomach cramps.
• Nausea.

Precautions

• Do not use for more than 2 weeks as an antacid or 1 week as a laxative without medical advice.
• Avoid in patients with kidney disease.
• May interact with other medications by reducing absorption — separate doses by at least 2 hours.
• Keep out of reach of children.
