AMLOCOR-S Amlodipine 5mg

Indication

Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and chronic stable angina pectoris. It works by relaxing blood vessels so the heart does not have to work as hard.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine 5 mg (as besilate)

Direction

Adults: 5 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily by a physician if needed. Take at the same time each day, with or without food.

Side effects

• Common: peripheral oedema (ankle swelling)
• headache
• flushing.
• Dizziness
• fatigue.
• Palpitations.
• Rarely: gingival hyperplasia (gum overgrowth).

Precautions

• Do not stop taking without medical advice.
• Use with caution in patients with severe liver impairment.
• May cause hypotension — rise slowly from sitting or lying positions.
• Not recommended in cardiogenic shock or severe aortic stenosis.
• Consult a doctor during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Keep out of reach of children.
