Indication
Used for the symptomatic relief of dry, irritating, and non-productive cough. Codeine suppresses the cough reflex centrally while sulfogaiacol has expectorant properties.
Ingredients
- Codeine phosphate 19.5 mg
- Sulfogaiacol (potassium guaiacolsulfonate) 100 mg
Direction
Adults: 1β2 tablets 3β4 times daily. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Not recommended for children under 12 years. Consult a doctor if cough persists beyond 5 days.
Side effects
- Constipation
- nausea
- vomiting.
- Drowsiness
- dizziness.
- Respiratory depression at high doses.
- Dependence with prolonged use.
Precautions
- Contains codeine (opioid) β risk of dependence with prolonged use.
- Not recommended in children under 12 years.
- Not recommended in patients with respiratory depression
- asthma
- or COPD.
- Avoid alcohol and sedatives β enhanced CNS depression.
- Do not use if cough is productive (with phlegm) unless advised by a doctor.
- Not for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding without medical advice.
- Keep out of reach of children.
