NEO-CODION Codeine + Sulfogaiacol

Indication

Used for the symptomatic relief of dry, irritating, and non-productive cough. Codeine suppresses the cough reflex centrally while sulfogaiacol has expectorant properties.

Ingredients

• Codeine phosphate 19.5 mg
• Sulfogaiacol (potassium guaiacolsulfonate) 100 mg

Direction

Adults: 1–2 tablets 3–4 times daily. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Not recommended for children under 12 years. Consult a doctor if cough persists beyond 5 days.

• Dependence with prolonged use.

Precautions

• Contains codeine (opioid) — risk of dependence with prolonged use.
• Not recommended in children under 12 years.
• Not recommended in patients with respiratory depression

• or COPD.
• Avoid alcohol and sedatives — enhanced CNS depression.
• Do not use if cough is productive (with phlegm) unless advised by a doctor.
• Not for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding without medical advice.
