Amibazol 500 mg

Indication

Nitroimidazole anti-infective for infections caused by anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, including amoebiasis, giardiasis, trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis and anaerobic infections.

Ingredients

• Metronidazole 500 mg

Direction

Use as prescribed by a doctor. Swallow tablets whole with water, preferably during or after a meal. Dose and duration depend on the infection; complete the full course.

Side effects

• Nausea
• metallic taste
• loss of appetite
• stomach upset
• diarrhoea and dark urine.
• Rarely: dizziness
• headache
• numbness or tingling of hands and feet
• stop and see a doctor.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.

Precautions

• Prescription medicine.
• Do not drink alcohol during treatment and for at least 48 hours after the last dose (risk of severe nausea
• vomiting
• flushing).
• Do not use if allergic to metronidazole or other nitroimidazoles.
• Use with caution in liver disease
• blood disorders or nervous system disease
• tell the doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding.
• May interact with warfarin
• lithium and disulfiram.
