Indication
Used for the symptomatic relief of bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and intestinal gas. Activated charcoal adsorbs gas-forming substances; simethicone reduces surface tension of gas bubbles.
Ingredients
- Activated charcoal 200 mg
- Simethicone 80 mg
Direction
Adults: 1–2 capsules 3 times daily after meals, or as directed by a physician.
Side effects
- Black discolouration of stools (harmless).
- Constipation
- nausea.
Precautions
- May reduce absorption of other oral medications — separate by at least 2 hours.
- Not for use in patients with intestinal obstruction.
- May cause stools to appear black (harmless).
- Consult a doctor if symptoms persist beyond 1 week.
- Keep out of reach of children.
