Ascoril 100ml

Indication

A combination respiratory syrup used to relieve symptoms of productive cough and wheeze in conditions such as bronchitis and asthma. Salbutamol acts as a bronchodilator, guaifenesin as an expectorant, and bromhexine as a mucolytic.

Ingredients

• Salbutamol 2 mg
• Guaifenesin 100 mg
• Bromhexine 4 mg per 5 ml syrup
• 100 ml bottle

Direction

Adults: 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 3–4 times daily. Children 6–12 years: 5 ml 3 times daily. Children 2–6 years: 2.5 ml 3 times daily. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Tremor
• palpitations
• tachycardia (salbutamol).
• Nausea
• stomach upset.
• Headache
• nervousness.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with heart disease
• hypertension
• or hyperthyroidism (salbutamol).
• May cause tremor and palpitations at high doses.
• Not recommended in the first trimester of pregnancy.
• Keep out of reach of children.
