Indication
Used for the symptomatic relief of dry, irritating, and non-productive cough. Acts as a central cough suppressant.
Ingredients
- Dextromethorphan hydrobromide
Direction
Adults: As directed on the product label, typically 10β30 mg every 4β8 hours. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose. Not for children under 12 without medical advice.
Side effects
- Drowsiness
- dizziness.
- Nausea
- stomach upset.
- Rarely: CNS effects at high doses.
Precautions
- Not for use in productive (wet) cough.
- Do not use with MAO inhibitors β risk of serotonin syndrome.
- Avoid alcohol.
- May cause drowsiness.
- Keep out of reach of children.
