Indication

A first-generation antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, urticaria, and other allergic conditions such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes.

Ingredients

• Chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet (4 mg) every 4–6 hours as needed. Maximum 24 mg in 24 hours. Children 6–12 years: 2 mg every 4–6 hours. Take with food.

Side effects

• Drowsiness
• sedation (common).
• Dry mouth
• blurred vision
• urinary retention.
• Paradoxical excitation in children.

Precautions

• Causes significant drowsiness — do not drive or operate machinery.
• Avoid alcohol and CNS depressants.
• Use with caution in patients with glaucoma
• urinary retention
• or BPH.
• Not recommended for children under 6 without medical advice.
• Keep out of reach of children.
