Meptin 50 mcg

Indication

Bronchodilator for relief of airway obstruction and dyspnoea in bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis and emphysema.

Ingredients

• Procaterol hydrochloride 50 mcg

Direction

Adults: 1 tablet (50 mcg) by mouth once daily at bedtime, or twice daily in the morning and at bedtime. The dose may be adjusted according to age and condition by the doctor.

Side effects

• Palpitations
• tachycardia
• tremor
• headache
• Nausea
• stomach discomfort
• insomnia
• nervousness
• Rarely low blood potassium or allergic rash

Precautions

• Prescription medicine (dangerous drug in Thailand). Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
• Use with caution in hyperthyroidism
• hypertension
• heart disease and diabetes.
• Combined use with xanthines
• corticosteroids or diuretics may lower blood potassium.
• Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if advised by a doctor.
