Pronor 5 mg

Indication

Treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men, to shrink the enlarged prostate, improve urinary flow and symptoms, and reduce the risk of acute urinary retention and the need for prostate surgery.

Ingredients

• Finasteride USP 5 mg

Direction

One 5 mg tablet once daily, with or without food, or as directed by the physician. Improvement may take 6 months or longer.

Side effects

• Decreased libido
• erectile dysfunction
• reduced ejaculate volume
• Breast tenderness or enlargement
• Rash
• itching or other allergic reactions
• Depressed mood has been reported
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.

Precautions

• Prescription medicine
• use as directed by the physician
• Women who are or may become pregnant must not take or handle crushed or broken tablets
• as finasteride may harm a male foetus
• Finasteride lowers PSA by about 50%
• prostate cancer should be excluded before and monitored during treatment
• Use with caution in liver impairment and in men with large residual urine volume or obstructive uropathy
• Report breast lumps
• nipple discharge or mood changes to a doctor
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.
