Indication

Antifibrinolytic/haemostatic for haemorrhage or threatened haemorrhage associated with excessive fibrinolysis; management of haemophiliacs undergoing dental extractions; prophylaxis of hereditary angioedema.

Ingredients

• Tranexamic acid 250 mg

Direction

Usual adult dose: 4 to 6 capsules two to three times daily. Dose should be adjusted according to the patient's age and symptoms. Refer to the enclosed leaflet.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• Dizziness or headache
• Rarely visual disturbances or thrombosis

Precautions

• Do not use in active thromboembolic disease or with a history of venous or arterial thrombosis
• Reduce dose in kidney impairment
