Dafalgan Codeine 500 mg / 30 mg

Indication

Treatment of moderate to severe acute pain in adults and children over 12 years that is not relieved by paracetamol, aspirin or ibuprofen alone.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol 500 mg
• Codeine phosphate hemihydrate 30 mg

Direction

Oral route. Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. Adults and children over 12 years (over 50 kg): 1 to 2 tablets per dose, at least 6 hours apart, maximum 6 tablets (3 g paracetamol / 180 mg codeine) per day. Use for the shortest possible duration (maximum 3 days without medical advice).

Precautions

• Overdose = danger: do not take with any other medicine containing paracetamol or codeine
• Contraindicated in children under 12 years
• breastfeeding
• severe liver disease
• asthma attacks or respiratory failure

• rapid CYP2D6 metabolisers
• Codeine can cause dependence
• do not use longer than necessary
• May cause drowsiness
• avoid alcohol and do not drive if affected
