Dermadine 10% (125 ml)

Indication

Iodine antiseptic for the antisepsis of minor superficial wounds and burns, local adjunct treatment of skin and mucous membrane infections at risk of becoming infected, and preoperative skin antisepsis.

Ingredients

• Povidone
• iodine 10 g per 100 ml

Direction

For external use. Apply undiluted to the affected area 1–2 times daily, or dilute (e.g. 1/10 with water or saline) for washing wounds. Rinse after use on mucous membranes.

Side effects

• Local skin irritation
• redness or burning sensation
• Allergic contact dermatitis
• rarely generalised allergic reactions
• Prolonged use on large areas may cause iodine absorption and thyroid function disturbances
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist if skin irritation
• redness or allergy occurs and stop use.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to iodine or povidone
• Avoid repeated use in newborns and infants under 1 month
• in pregnancy (from the 2nd trimester) and during breastfeeding
• and in thyroid disease
• Do not combine with mercury
• containing antiseptics
• for external use only
• avoid contact with the eyes
