Indication

Emergency contraception to reduce the risk of pregnancy after unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure, used within 72 hours.

Ingredients

• Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg

Direction

Take 1 tablet by mouth as soon as possible, preferably within 12 hours and no later than 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. If vomiting occurs within 3 hours, take another tablet. Or as prescribed by the physician; read the enclosed leaflet before use.

Side effects

• Nausea
• lower abdominal pain
• tiredness
• headache or dizziness
• Breast tenderness
• vomiting or diarrhoea
• Changes in menstrual bleeding (earlier or later period
• spotting)
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any side effect is severe or persists

Precautions

• For emergency use only
• not a regular method of contraception
• Not effective if already pregnant
• see a doctor if your period is more than 5 days late
• Some medicines (e.g. rifampicin
• carbamazepine
• phenytoin
• ritonavir
• St John's wort) can reduce its effectiveness
• Does not protect against HIV or other sexually transmitted infections
• Contains lactose
