Indication

Oral contraceptive pill for the prevention of pregnancy.

Ingredients

• Desogestrel 0.15 mg
• Ethinylestradiol 0.03 mg
• Inert tablets (no active ingredient)

Direction

Take one tablet daily at about the same time for 28 days, following the order on the blister (active tablets first, then inert tablets), then start the next pack the following day without a break. Follow the doctor's or pharmacist's instructions and the package leaflet.

Side effects

• Nausea
• headache
• breast tenderness
• Spotting or irregular bleeding between periods
• Mood changes
• weight changes
• Rarely
• blood clots (venous thromboembolism)
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.

Precautions

• Do not use if pregnant
• or with a history of blood clots
• stroke
• heart disease
• certain cancers or liver disease
• Smoking increases the risk of serious cardiovascular side effects
• especially over age 35
• Missed tablets or vomiting/diarrhoea may reduce contraceptive protection
• Does not protect against HIV or other sexually transmitted infections
