Phosphalugel 20% gel, 12.38 g per 20 g sachet

Indication

Antacid for the symptomatic treatment of painful oesophageal, gastric and duodenal conditions: burning, discomfort and stomach ache, heartburn and acid reflux.

Ingredients

• Colloidal aluminium phosphate gel 20% 12.38 g per 20 g sachet

Direction

Adults: 1 to 2 sachets, 2 to 3 times a day after meals or when pain occurs; usually no need to exceed 6 sachets per day. Take pure or diluted in half a glass of water. Take other medicines at least 2 hours apart.

Side effects

• Constipation
• especially in bedridden or elderly patients.
• Mild laxative effect or gastrointestinal discomfort due to sorbitol.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.

Precautions

• Do not use in severe kidney disease or if allergic to any ingredient.
• Not recommended in hereditary fructose intolerance (contains 4.3 g sorbitol per sachet).
• Separate from other oral medicines by at least 2 hours.
• If symptoms persist beyond 10 days or worsen
