Bioflor 250 mg

Indication

Treatment of acute infectious diarrhoea in adults and children; prevention and treatment of antibiotic-associated colitis and diarrhoea; addition to vancomycin/metronidazole to prevent recurrence of Clostridium difficile disease; prevention of tube-feeding associated diarrhoea; treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.

Ingredients

• Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I
• 745 250 mg (lyophilized yeast cells)

Direction

Oral route: 1 or 2 capsules once or twice daily. Swallow with water or open the capsule and mix the contents with cold or lukewarm food or drink; do not mix with very hot, iced or alcoholic drinks.

Side effects

• Bloating
• constipation or thirst (uncommon)
• Rarely allergic reactions or fungal bloodstream infection in critically ill or catheterised patients
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• stop use and seek advice if allergy or unusual reactions occur.

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with a central venous catheter
• critically ill or immunocompromised patients
• Do not take with oral or systemic antifungal medicines
• Rehydrate in diarrhoea
• see a doctor if diarrhoea lasts more than 2 days or with fever
• blood or vomiting
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• stop use and seek advice if allergy or unusual reactions occur.
