Indication
Proton pump inhibitor used for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive oesophagitis, gastric and duodenal ulcers including those associated with NSAIDs, Helicobacter pylori eradication (with antibiotics), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Ingredients
- Esomeprazole (as magnesium trihydrate) 20 mg
Direction
As directed by the physician or see package insert for full prescribing information. Swallow the capsule whole, at least one hour before a meal; do not crush or chew.
Side effects
- Headache
- Abdominal pain
- diarrhoea
- nausea
- flatulence or constipation
- Long
- term use may lower magnesium or vitamin B12 levels
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.
Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to esomeprazole or other benzimidazole proton pump inhibitors
- Tell your doctor about liver disease
- pregnancy or breastfeeding
- and other medicines (e.g. clopidogrel)
