Woods' Peppermint Antitussive 7.5 mg / 12.5 mg per 5 mL (100 mL)

Indication

Peppermint-flavoured antitussive syrup plus antihistamine for relief of dry, non-productive cough, including cough associated with allergy.

Ingredients

• Dextromethorphan HBr 7.5 mg per 5 mL
• Diphenhydramine HCl 12.5 mg per 5 mL

Direction

Shake well before use. Adults and children over 12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) 3 times daily. Children 6-12 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) 3 times daily. Or as directed by a doctor.

• Dry mouth

• constipation
• Blurred vision or difficulty urinating (due to the antihistamine)

Precautions

• May cause drowsiness
• do not drive or operate machinery and avoid alcohol and other sedatives.
• Do not use with or within 2 weeks of MAO inhibitors
• use caution with SSRIs or tricyclic antidepressants.
• Not for children under 6 years
• use caution in asthma
• glaucoma
• enlarged prostate
• liver disease or during pregnancy.
• Not for productive cough with phlegm
