Promethazine PPM 0.1% (5 mg / 5 mL, 100 mL)

Indication

Symptomatic relief of various allergic conditions such as rhinitis (hay fever, runny nose, tickling), conjunctivitis (smarting), and skin allergy (insect bites, pruritus, erythema, urticaria).

Ingredients

• Promethazine (as hydrochloride) 5 mg/5 mL

Direction

Oral. Children 2 to 5 years: 5 mL 3 times per day. Children 5 to 12 years: 5 to 10 mL 2 to 3 times per day, not exceeding 25 mL per day. Children over 12 years: 10 to 20 mL 4 times per day, not exceeding 50 mL per day. Adults: 20 mL 4 to 5 times per day.

Side effects

• Drowsiness / sedation (warning: may impair ability to drive or operate machinery)
• Dry mouth
• constipation
• blurred vision or difficulty urinating

Precautions

• Do not use in children under 2 years (risk of fatal respiratory depression)
• Causes drowsiness
