CECOXIBE Celecoxib 200mg

Indication

Celecoxib is a selective COX-2 inhibitor (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute pain. It is also used for primary dysmenorrhoea.

Ingredients

• Celecoxib 200 mg

Direction

Adults: For osteoarthritis, 200 mg once daily or 100 mg twice daily. For rheumatoid arthritis, 100–200 mg twice daily. For acute pain, 400 mg initially then 200 mg as needed on the first day; thereafter 200 mg twice daily. Take with or without food.

Side effects

• Abdominal pain
• diarrhoea
• dyspepsia
• or flatulence.
• Headache
• dizziness
• or insomnia.
• Peripheral oedema.
• Elevated liver enzymes (rare).
• Serious cardiovascular events (rare
• with prolonged use).

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to celecoxib
• sulfonamides
• aspirin
• or other NSAIDs.
• Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
• hypertension
• renal or hepatic impairment.
• Avoid use in the third trimester of pregnancy.
• May increase risk of cardiovascular events
• use lowest effective dose for shortest duration.
• Monitor renal function with prolonged use.
