Cetirizine 10mg

Indication

Cetirizine is a second-generation antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (seasonal and perennial), urticaria (hives), and other allergic conditions such as hay fever and itching due to allergies.

Ingredients

• Cetirizine hydrochloride 10 mg

Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: 10 mg once daily, taken orally with or without food. Children 6–11 years: 5 mg twice daily or 10 mg once daily. Children 2–5 years: 2.5 mg twice daily (use liquid formulation).

Side effects

• Drowsiness or sedation (less common than first
• generation antihistamines).
• Dry mouth
• headache
• or fatigue.
• Dizziness or gastrointestinal discomfort (rare).

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment
• dose reduction may be required.
• May cause drowsiness in some individuals
• avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
• Avoid alcohol during use.
• Use with caution in elderly patients.
• Not recommended for children under 2 years without medical supervision.
