Indication

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for relief of mild to moderate pain (headache, dental pain, menstrual pain, musculoskeletal pain), fever, and inflammation.

Ingredients

• Ibuprofen BP 200 mg

Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: 200–400 mg every 4–6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 1200 mg in 24 hours without medical advice. Take with food or milk to reduce stomach upset.

Side effects

• Nausea
• dyspepsia
• abdominal pain
• or diarrhoea.
• Dizziness or headache.
• Gastric ulceration or bleeding (with prolonged use or high doses).
• Fluid retention or oedema.
• Allergic reactions: rash
• urticaria (rare).

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to ibuprofen or other NSAIDs.
• Avoid in patients with active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Use with caution in patients with hypertension
• heart disease
• renal or hepatic impairment.
• Do not use during the third trimester of pregnancy.
• Avoid alcohol during use.
• May increase risk of cardiovascular events with prolonged use
