Clamoxyl 500 500mg

Indication

Clamoxyl (Amoxicillin) is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and other sites caused by susceptible organisms.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin trihydrate 500 mg

Direction

Adults: 500 mg three times daily (every 8 hours) or as directed by a physician. Children: dose adjusted by age and weight. Complete the full prescribed course.

Side effects

• Diarrhoea
• nausea
• or vomiting.
• Skin rash or urticaria.
• Oral or vaginal thrush (candidiasis) with prolonged use.
• Severe allergic reactions including anaphylaxis (rare).

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins.
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment.
• May interact with anticoagulants and oral contraceptives.
• Complete the full course to avoid antibiotic resistance.
• Report any skin rash immediately.
