Indication
Panactol Enfant is a combination antipyretic and antihistamine preparation used in children to relieve fever, mild to moderate pain, and allergy-associated symptoms such as runny nose and sneezing associated with colds and flu.
Ingredients
- Paracetamol 325 mg
- Chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg
Direction
Children: dose is adjusted by age and body weight as directed by a physician. Typically 1 tablet every 4–6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours. Not for long-term use without medical advice.
Side effects
- Drowsiness (due to chlorpheniramine).
- Dry mouth or urinary retention.
- Nausea or abdominal discomfort.
- Hepatotoxicity in paracetamol overdose.
Precautions
- Do not use with other products containing paracetamol.
- Chlorpheniramine causes drowsiness
- ensure child is supervised.
- Do not use in children with known allergy to paracetamol or antihistamines.
- Avoid in children with severe liver or kidney disease.
- Consult a physician if fever persists more than 3 days or symptoms worsen.
