TOP-3 Kit 1g + 150mg

Indication

TOP-3 Kit contains azithromycin and fluconazole and is used in the syndromic management of sexually transmitted infections, specifically for the treatment of cervicitis/urethritis (chlamydia/gonorrhoea) and vaginal candidiasis as a combination kit.

Ingredients

• Azithromycin 1 g
• Fluconazole 150 mg

Direction

Adults: Azithromycin 1 g and Fluconazole 150 mg are each taken as a single oral dose as directed by a physician. Complete the full kit as prescribed.

Side effects

• Nausea
• diarrhoea
• or abdominal pain.
• Headache.
• Hepatotoxicity (rare).
• Skin rash.
• QT prolongation (azithromycin
• rare).

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to azithromycin
• macrolides
• or fluconazole.
• Fluconazole can interact with many medications including warfarin
• oral hypoglycaemics
• phenytoin
• and some statins
• inform your physician of all current medications.
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.
• Avoid during pregnancy (consult a physician).
• QT interval prolongation with azithromycin
• caution in cardiac patients.
• Partner(s) should also be treated.
