Indication
CORTIMEX Cream is used for the treatment of inflammatory and pruritic dermatoses that are responsive to corticosteroids and where secondary bacterial infection is present or suspected. It is indicated for eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, and other inflammatory skin conditions with bacterial superinfection.
Ingredients
- Clobetasol propionate 0.05% (0.5 mg/g)
- Neomycin sulfate 0.5%
Direction
Adults: Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2 times daily (morning and evening). Rub in gently. Treatment should be limited to 2 weeks for mild-to-moderate conditions. Do not use for longer than directed. Children: Use under medical supervision only.
Side effects
- Skin thinning (atrophy) with prolonged use.
- Stretch marks (striae).
- Skin irritation
- burning
- or itching at application site.
- Contact dermatitis (especially from neomycin component).
- Hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation.
- Adrenal suppression with extensive or prolonged use.
- Secondary infections.
Precautions
- Not for use on the face
- groin
- or underarms unless directed by a doctor.
- Avoid contact with eyes.
- Do not use on open wounds
- ulcers
- or infected skin without medical advice.
- Long
- term use may cause skin thinning
- stretch marks
- or adrenal suppression.
- Do not use in children under 1 year of age.
- Neomycin may cause contact sensitisation
- discontinue if allergic reaction occurs.
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
- Avoid occlusive dressings unless directed by a physician.
