Indication
Salboget is a bronchodilator inhaler used for the relief and prevention of bronchospasm in asthma and reversible obstructive airway disease, including exercise-induced bronchospasm.
Ingredients
- Salbutamol sulfate equivalent to Salbutamol 100 mcg per actuation
Direction
Adults and children 4 years and over: For acute bronchospasm — 1–2 puffs (100–200 mcg) as needed. For exercise-induced prevention — 2 puffs 15–30 minutes before exercise. Maximum: 8 puffs in 24 hours. Shake inhaler before use; breathe out fully, inhale deeply while pressing the canister, then hold breath for 10 seconds.
Side effects
- Fine tremor of the hands.
- Headache.
- Palpitations and increased heart rate.
- Muscle cramps.
- Hypokalaemia with high doses.
- Nervousness.
- Paradoxical bronchospasm (rare).
Precautions
- Consult a doctor if you have heart disease
- hypertension
- or hyperthyroidism.
- Overuse may indicate poorly controlled asthma
- seek medical review.
- Not for children under 4 years without medical supervision.
- Consult a doctor during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Avoid use with MAOIs or tricyclic antidepressants.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not puncture or burn the canister.
