CALVIT-D Calcium gluconate 500mg + Vitamin D3 200 IU

Indication

CALVIT-D is used for the prevention and treatment of calcium and vitamin D3 deficiency, osteoporosis prophylaxis, and as a supplement in conditions requiring increased calcium intake such as pregnancy, lactation, growth, and old age.

Ingredients

• Calcium gluconate 500 mg
• Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) 200 IU

Direction

Adults: 1–2 tablets daily, or as directed by a doctor. Take with a full glass of water, preferably with a meal. Children: dose as directed by a doctor. Pregnant/breastfeeding women: as recommended by a physician.

Side effects

• Constipation.
• Bloating or flatulence.
• Nausea.
• Hypercalcaemia with excessive doses (weakness
• confusion
• nausea
• polyuria).
• Kidney stones with high doses and inadequate fluid intake.

Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose.
• Contraindicated in hypercalcaemia and hypercalciuria.
• Use with caution in patients with kidney stones or renal impairment.
• Avoid concurrent use of thiazide diuretics without medical advice.
• Maintain adequate fluid intake.
• Keep out of reach of children.
